School Lunch

Chartwells, the new district food service provider this year, is a subsidiary of the Compass Group, a British company which is the largest food service company in the world.  

It appears that Chartwells is not living up to their contractual obligations to the district.  A company of this size should not be allowed to serve poor-quality food to our children.  

It is not the fault of the administration or School Board that Chartwells is not living up to the contract, and yes, there are global supply issues.  The fact that children are not getting enough to eat should be remedied through other means while the issues are being worked out with the vendor.  The School Board has the responsibility to make sure students are fed appropriately while at school.
